- Provide 1/2 cup boiled rice
- You need 1 cup thick Yoghurt/curd
- Use To taste Salt
- Prepare For tempering:-
- You need 1/2 tsp Sesame Oil
- Prepare 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- Provide 1 pinch Asafoetida (optional)
- Take A few Curry leaves
- Take 1 tiny piece of fresh Ginger chopped finely
- Use 1 Green chilli finely chopped

- You need Handful Pomegranate
- Provide few fresh Coriander leaves chopped
Steps to make Curd rice:
- Half cup of rice boiled nicely and mashed slightly - (do not use Basmati Rice/ Delhi Rice for it would not be suitable for South Indian Yoghurt or Curd Rice, instead use Sona Masuri or any such Rice)
- Now add 1 cup of thick Yogurt/ Curd and mix it with the mashed up Rice nicely. If needed you can add some water.
- Add Salt to taste.Heat a small pan with oil, once hot, add the Mustard seeds and let them Crackle.
- Then add all the other ingredients for the tempering, saute for a second and pour the tempering on the prepared Yogurt / Curd Rice, and garnish it with coriander leaves and pomegranate.
- Enjoy this deliciously cool dish to beat the hot summer. Goes well in summer or winter. Serve curd Rice with some nice tangy pickle.
