Almost every “get healthy” and “weight loss” document you read will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. This is really very good information. But sometimes the last thing you would like to do is make a whole meal for yourself and your family. Once in a while you only want to check out the drive through while you’re on your way home and finish the day. There is simply no reason that you shouldn’t be able to do that once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. You can do this because many of the popular joints are now marketing “healthy” menu alternatives to keep their businesses up. Here is how to eat healthy when you hit the drive through.
Go with the side dishes. Not too long ago, the sole side dish item at a fast food restaurant was French fries. Today almost all of the most popular fast food franchises have amplified their products. There are plenty of salads out there these days. You could get chili. You might get baked potatoes. Fruit is normally obtainable. There are so many possibilities that you can choose that do not force you to consume foods that have been deep fried. When selecting your supper from the drive through, pick out a variety of side items instead of choosing a pre-made “meal deal”. You’ll maintain your calorie and fatty food count lower and stay away from time and effort.
Logic states that that one the easiest way to stay healthy and balanced is to avoid the drive through and never eat fast food. While this is usually recommended all you need to do is make a few good decisions and visiting the drive through isn’t anything to worry about–when you do it in moderation. Sometimes what you need is to let another person create your dinner. When you want healthful menu items, you do not have to feel terrible about visiting the drive through.

- Take Mixed Herbs
- Take Red Wine

Steps to make Spaghetti Bolognese:
- Chop the onion into small pieces, add to cooking pot and fry in olive oil.
- Once the onions are starting to go translucent, add the tomato paste, mixed herbs, and garlic paste. Keep stirring for roughly a minute.
- Add the minced beef in batches, making sure to brown it off completely before adding more. Then add the red wine and allow to reduce for 5 minutes.
- Add the two tins of tomatoes, and allow to simmer on the hob for 15/20 minutes. Once the pot is in the oven the sauce won't really reduce, so it is important to reduce it at this stage.
- Remove the pot from the hob, and place it in the middle shelf of a preheated oven set to 100C. I like to leave it at least an hour in the oven, but can be left for longer.
- Bring a large pan of water to the boil, add spaghetti and cook until al dente. Add with the sauce (mix it all in together) and top with grated parmesan.
