Almost every “get healthy” and “weight loss” document you read will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. This is actually very good guidance. But at times the last thing you would like to do is prepare a whole meal for yourself and your family. Once in a while you just want to visit the drive through while you are on your way home and end the day. There isn’t any reason that you shouldn’t be authorized to do this and not be tormented by guilt about slipping on your diet. You can do this because most of the popular joints are now promoting “healthy” menu alternatives to keep their businesses up. Here is how one can find healthy food at the drive through.
Your drink should be water or juice or milk. Drinking a large soft drink forces hundreds of empty unhealthy calories into your diet. Usually an individual helping of soda pop is only eight ounces big. That serving may contain many spoonfuls of sugar along with at least a hundred calories. Most fast food carbonated drinks are at least twenty ounces large. Thirty ounces, however, is considerably more common. This means that your drink on it’s own will put a multitude of ounces of sugar into your body as well as several thousand empty calories. It is much healthier to decide on milk, juice or perhaps normal water.
Basic logic states that the best way to lose weight and get healthy is to ban fast food from your diet altogether. While, for the most part, this is a good plan, if you make smart choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Sometimes the thing you need is to let other people produce your dinner. There isn’t any reason to feel guilty about going to the drive through when you make healthy and balanced decisions!
