Just about any article you read about restoring your health or losing weight is going to tell you to ignore the drive through and cook all of your meals instead. This is literally very true. Sometimes, though, the last thing you choose is to have to make meals from scratch. Once in a while you need to check out the drive through while you are on your way home and finish the day. There is zero reason you shouldn’t be able to make it happen once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. This is because many of the famous fast food restaurants on the market are trying to “healthy up” their selections. Here is how you can eat healthfully when you visit the drive through.
Aim at the side dishes. Not that long ago, the sole side dish item at a fast food restaurant was French fries. Today the vast majority of the most popular fast food franchises have enhanced their offerings. There are many salads around now. Chili can be a different option. You can also buy a baked potato. You can make fruit. There are lots of wholesome options that do not include things like putting something deep fried into your body. Instead of the pre-determined “meal deals” try to create a meal consisting of side dishes. You’ll keep calorie and fatty food count low and stay away from commitment.
Simple logic states that the proper way to lose weight and get healthy is to ban fast food from your diet completely. While, usually, this is a good strategy, if you make smart choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Every now and then, letting someone else cook dinner is just the thing you need. There isn’t any reason to feel guilty about going to the drive through when you make healthy decisions!
