The ingredients needed to prepare Kadala Curry:
  1. Get 1 cup Kala Chana
  2. Use 1/2 coconut (scrapped)
  3. Provide 4-5 shallot onion
  4. You need 3-4 Garlic
  5. Use 7-8 Dried Red chillies
  6. You need to taste Salt
  7. Prepare Few curry leaves
  8. Take 2 tbsp Coconut oil
  9. Get 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Instructions to make Kadala Curry:
  1. Soak the Kala chana overnight. Next morning cook it in pressure cooker. Give 7-8 whistles or till it gets soft
  2. Take a pan, add Coconut oil in that. Once oil is hot add Shallot onion, garlic, red chillies, curry leaves and turmeric powder. Don't overcook. Cook till onion loose it's raw taste. Let it cool.
  3. In mixie jar add step - 2 ingredients. Add coconut. Grind it to smooth paste.
  4. Take a pan, add coconut oil, curry leaves and dried Red Chilli. Add gravy in this. Let it cook for some time. Don't boil it. Add boiled Chana. Cook for some more time. Serve with hot piping puttu.
