- Get 1 cup Black chana
- Provide 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Use 1-1 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder

Instructions to make Kaala chana curry:
- For onion paste : - Add 3 sliced onion, small piece of ginger and 4-5 garlic pods to a blender. Make it as a smooth paste.
- Wash and soak chana in water for about 8 hrs.
- We are going to prepare this gravy in pressure cooker. So Heat cooker, add 2 tbsp of oil, cardamom, clove and cinnamon.
- Add onion paste and salt. saute it.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder. Mix it well.
- Add tomato puree and saute it till the raw smell goes.
- Remove chana from water and add to that gravy mixture.
- Add 2 cup of water to cook it. Leave it to cook for 5- 6 whistles in pressure cooker. - After 6 whistles check whether it is cooked. If not cook for 2 more whistles. Add garam masala at last.
- Kaala chana curry is ready to serve with roti or aapam. Garnish with coriander leaves.
