Instructions to make Khichdi:
- Soak the daal for atleast 30 minutes
- Heat a deep pot with water
- Add the daals boil till it is half boiled
- Now add the rice and boil
- In a pan add oil and temper cumin seed bay leaf and red chilli
- Add chopped coconut and fry well till it become golden brown
- Add all the masalas and ginger paste saute well adding salt and turmeric powder
- Add green chillies and desiccated coconut mix well
- Now add chopped tomatoes and mix
- Pour it into the pot and mix well
- Boil until everything get combined
- Add sugar and mix well
- Garnish with ghee and curry masala powder
- Serve it with fried veggies and chutney
