- Wash and Soak chana daal for half hour
- Put adequate amount of water in daal and put on stove. Add to it ginger garlic paste, finely chopped tomatoes, curry leaves, red chilli, haldi and salt.
- Let it cook until the daal is tender.
- Separately in a pot add water and let the lauki boil and get half tender.
- When the daal is tender add lauki to it, and cook until lauki is fully cooked. Add water if needed.
- Add roasted cumin black pepper and garam masala and put on dum for 10 minutes.
- Prepare baghar by adding oil, then lal sabut mrch then garlic and curry leaves.
- Pour the baghar over the daal and cover with lid. Switch off stove.
