- Use 1 small grated lauki
- You need To taste salt
- Prepare 1/4 tbsp ajwain / carom seeds
- Provide 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
- You need 1/2 red chilli powder
- Provide 1/2 coriander powder
- Prepare 1 chopped tomato
- You need 1 chopped onion
- Use 5 tbsp besan
- Use 2 finely chopped green chillies
- Get As required Oil for deep frying
- Provide 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Provide 1/2 tbsp garam masala
- Take As required Green coriander for garnishing
- Take As required peas
- Take 3/4 cup water
- You need 2 tbsp cashewnut paste
- Use 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds
Steps to make Lauki Kofta Curry:
- Peel and grate lauki. Take grated lauki in a large bowl. Add ajwain,gram flour, finely chopped green chillies and salt. Mix all ingredients well.
- Mixture should have a thick consistency to make round shaped balls. If it is watery then add gram flour and mix.
- Take each portion and turn it into round shaped balls.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium flame for deep frying. When oil is medium hot, add balls and fry.
- For gravy- Blanch the tomatoes and crush them with cashew nuts to make tomato-cashew puree.
- Heat oil in pan over medium flame. Add cumin seeds and cook,Add ginger-garlic paste then chopped onion.
- Add tomato-cashew puree and mix well. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
- Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder and salt (add for gravy). Mix well and stir-fry for a minute.
- Add water and cook over medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
- Add fried kofta balls to the gravy. Cook for 5-6 minutes and turn off flame. Transfer it to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves and peas.
