- Provide For idli batter(to make appam)
- Provide 2 cup idli rice
- Prepare 1 cup whole white urad
- Provide 1 fistful thin poha(washed and strained)

Steps to make Appam with hot coffee:
- Wash idli rice 4-5 times in water,soak in enough water for 4 hours. Wash whole white urad 4-5 times in water,soak in water for 4 hours. First grind urad,then add soaked idli rice, and washed poha & grind into little coarse batter in wet grinder. Keep cover and let it ferment overnight..(for 14-16 hours).
- Next day add salt, chopped coriander, green chillies ginger paste, cashewnuts pieces,mix well.
- Heat appam tawa add 1/4 tsp oil in each cavity, with help of brush,add 1 tbsp of prepared idli batter in each cavity.
- Cover and cook for few minutes.
- Appam will fluff up..
- As the lower side turns golden brown in colour,flip them one by one..cook the other side till golden brown in colour.
- Serve hot Appam with green coriander chutney and hot coffee.
