Before you jump to Baked Chicken & Veggies recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about Choosing Fast Food That’s Fine For You.
Just about every article you read about improving your health or losing weight is going to tell you to ignore the drive through and cook all of your meals instead. This is literally very true. But sometimes the last thing you would like to do is prepare a whole meal for yourself and your family. Once in a while you only want to pay a visit to the drive through while you’re on your way home and complete the day. There is zero reason you shouldn’t be able to do this once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. This is because many of the popular fast food restaurants around are trying to “healthy up” their selections. Here is how you can eat healthy when you hit the drive through.
Select a drive through for a restaurant that is known for catering to people with healthy palates. Arby’s by way of example, isn’t going to provide burgers. You could have roast beef sandwiches, wraps and salads instead. While Wendy’s has offered hamburgers for decades, they also have plenty of other healthy options like salads, baked potatoes and chili. Most fast food restaurants do not stoop to the unhealthy lows seen at McDonalds.
Common logic tells us that one positive way to get healthy and lose fat is to skip the drive through and to banish fast food restaurants from your thoughts. Most of the time this is a good plan but if you make great choices, there’s no reason you can’t visit your drive through once in a while. At times what you need most is just to have somebody else do the cooking. When you select healthful menu items, you do not have to feel terrible about visiting the drive through.
We hope you got insight from reading it, now let’s go back to baked chicken & veggies recipe. To cook baked chicken & veggies you only need 7 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.
The ingredients needed to prepare Baked Chicken & Veggies:
- You need Chicken Breast 4-6 depending on size of meal needed
- You need Carrots about 5 long ones
- Use Zucchini 3 medium sized
- Take Mushrooms half to full packet
- Use as needed Olive Oil
- Take to taste Seasonings
- Get Foil Paper
Steps to make Baked Chicken & Veggies:
- Preheat Oven to 350* Cut 2 pieces of foil paper to make a basket in the baking dish. I use a 10x13 size pan but use the size of pan best suited for your needs.
- Rinse & trim off fat on chicken. Place into one side of foil packet. Season with desired seasonings. Lemon Pepper, herbed poultry are simple tasty ones.
- Rinse off veggies & cut up to desired size. Place into medium sized bowl & coat with olive oil & desired seasonings mixing well. Pepper & Garlic Powder are what I typically use. Place into the other foil packet.
- Bake at 350* for about 40 minutes. If your oven isn’t preheated it might take longer to cook. Make sure that your chicken is cooked all the way with no pink inside. Cooking time may vary depending on your oven so check around the 25 minute mark to ensure it doesn’t dry out.
- Your carrots will still be crunchy but cooked. For this meal don’t anticipate them being soft & mushy. If they are I’m not sure what you did wrong. Ha ha!
- Serve over a bed or rice or just as is. Either way it’ll be delicious. Enjoy!
