- Provide 6-7 big amla/nellikai
- Use 1 tbsp chana dal
- Get 1 tbsp urad dal
- You need 2-3 Green chilli

- You need 1/4 tsp Methi

- You need 2-3 tbsp Oil
- Get 1/2 tsp Mustard
- Use 1/4 tsp Hing
Instructions to make Nellikai Chutney Rice:
- Take all the ingredients.
- First in a kadai dry roast red chilli by adding little salt to it.Then dry roast jeera and methi.Dry roast chanadal and urad dal.Transfer it on a plate and allow it to cool.
- I had little thudhuvallai keerai,so just added it.This is optional.Remove the thorns from the leaves and wash it.Add little oil in kadai and fry the thudhuvallai keerai till it becomes soft and changes colour.Then transfer it to a plate.
- In same kadai add nellikai and cook till it becomes soft and light brown in colour.Add green chillies, tamarind and saute it.Then transfer it on a plate.Finally dry roast the coconut.
- Allow all these roasted ingredients to cool and then in a mixer jar coarsely grind it by adding required salt and little water. This chutney should be thick.
- Now in a small pan or same kadai add oil after it becomes hot add mustard seeds after it splutters add one red chilli,curry leaves and hing.
- Add this seasoning to the coarsely grinded chutney.
- Take cooked warm rice in a plate and add little oil to it. Add required quantity of this chutney and mix it with rice.
- Enjoy this rice with papad, pickle or raita.
