Just about every single article you read about improving your health or weight loss is going to tell you to ignore the drive through and cook all of your meals instead. This is really good advice. Sometimes, though, the last thing you choose is to have to make an evening meal from scratch. Sometimes almost all you really want is to go to the drive through and get home as soon as possible. There is no reason that you simply shouldn’t be able to do this once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. You can do this because most of the popular joints are now advertising “healthy” menu options to keep their businesses up. Here is the way to find appropriate food choices at the drive through.
Go for the side dishes. Not that long ago, the only real side dish item at a fast food restaurant was French fries. Now lots of the fast food menus have been widened considerably. Now you can get a range of salads. You could also select Chili. Baked potatoes can also be bought. You could get fruit. There are so many options that you can choose that do not force you to eat foods that have been deep fried. When you buy your meal through a drive through window, select side dishes instead of just grabbing something premade. This helps you keep the calorie count low and lower your fat intake.
Standard logic tells us that one certain way to get healthy and shed pounds is to skip the drive through and to remove fast food restaurants from your thoughts. While this is usually a good idea all you need to do is make a couple of good selections and traveling to the drive through isn’t anything to worry about–when you do it in moderation. At times what you need most is just to have someone else do the cooking. If you ultimately choose healthy things, the guilt usually associated with hitting the drive through shouldn’t be so bad.
