Almost every single article about weight loss and getting healthy tells readers to avoid drive through windows like the plague and to do all of their own cooking. There’s some worth to this. But sometimes the last thing you want to do is make a whole dinner for yourself and your family. Sometimes just about all you desperately want is to go to the drive through and get home quickly. There is no reason you shouldn’t be able to make it happen once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. This is possible because lots of the popular fast food spots are trying to make their menus healthier now. Here’s how it is possible to eat healthfully while you are at a fast food spot.
Choose the drive through depending on whether it has better options available. For instance, Arby’s does not provide hamburgers. Instead, a person’s options include things like roast beef and chicken sandwiches, wraps and big salads. Wendy’s, obviously, is known for its square burgers, but the menu there has lots of healthful choices like salad, potatoes and chili. Not many fast food places are as unhealthy as McDonalds with its deep fried everything.
Logic says that one the easiest way to stay balanced is to bypass the drive through and never eat fast food. While this is usually a good idea all you need to do is make a few good decisions and traveling to the drive through isn’t anything to worry about–when you do it in moderation. Occasionally, permitting someone else cook dinner is just the thing you need. If you ultimately choose healthy products, the remorse usually associated with hitting the drive through shouldn’t be so bad.
