  1. Use 2 piece Karela (bitter gourd) :
  2. Take 1 piece Onion :
  3. Prepare 2 piece Tomato :
  4. Use 1/4 cup Besan (gram flour) :
  5. Get 1 tbsp Oil :
  6. Take Hing (asafoetida) :
  7. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder :
  8. Get 2 tsp Coriander powder :

Steps to make Karela besan sabji:
  1. Peel and cut the bitter gourd in thin slices. Add a little salt to it and keep aside for 20-30 mins. - - Press the bitter gourd between your palm and squeeze out all the water. Keep aside.
  2. Now in a non stick pan/kadhai heat oil and once the oil is hot put cumin seeds and hing (asafoetida). Cook till cumin turns slight brown. - - Add onions to the oil and cook for about 1 min.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes become soft. - - Now add all Indian spices like coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  4. Mix well all the ingredients and cook for about 2 min. - - Add the kerala, mix well and cook until the kerala is cooked.
  5. Add sugar to balance the bitterness of the kerala. - - Then add the besan flour to the sabji and cook for about 3-4 min or till the besan and kerala is cooked well. - - Delicious Karela Besan Sabzi is ready to serve. You can serve this with phulka roti or paratha
