Almost every single “get healthy” and “weight loss” article you read will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. There’s some benefit to that. Once in a while, though, you absolutely do not wish to make a full meal for your family or even just for yourself. Sometimes almost all you really want is to go to the drive through and get home as soon as possible. Why shouldn’t you be able to do this every now and then and not have a bunch of guilt about slipping up on your diet program? This is possible because lots of the popular fast food places are trying to make their menus healthier now. Here is how to eat healthy when you reach the drive through.

Choose water, juice or perhaps milk as a beverage. Drinking a large soft drink allows hundreds of empty unhealthy calories into your diet. Usually a single portion of soda pop is only eight ounces big. Those eight ounces usually are at least 100 calories and about ten tablespoons of sugar. Most fast food soft drink sizes start at twenty ounces. It is most often at least 30 ounces. This is the reason why just buying a soft drink will add cupfulls of sugar and thousands of empty calories to your diet. Milk, fruit juices and also plain water are much healthier options.

Logic says that one of the best ways to stay healthy and balanced is to bypass the drive through and never eat fast food. While, usually, this is a good strategy, if you make smart choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Often what you require most is just to have someone else do the cooking. There isn’t any reason to feel bad about visiting the drive through when you make healthy decisions!
